Our Journey

2012

VitrA Georgia

Merlons imports and distributes interior and exterior finishing materials and home furniture in Georgia. The company was founded in 2011 by Sharmi Group and soon secured exclusivity for its first international brand, VitrA. In 2012, VitrA-branded showrooms opened in Tbilisi and Batumi. With modern showrooms and an energetic project sales team, VitrA Georgia soon earned customers' trust for both private and corporate projects. The company has supplied a number of significant projects across Georgia, including Moxy Marriott Tbilisi, Radisson Tbilisi, Rixos Borjomi, Holiday inn Telavi, Mcdonald’s, KFC, Best Western Kutaisi, Best western Batumi, Ibis Styles, Grand Gloria Batumi, Fabrika Hostel, Gagua Clinic, Chateau Art Wine Artana, Bank of Georgia, airports, Houses of Justice, and others.

2020

Inspired by its success, the team began expanding the business in 2020 and searching for brands that were not yet represented on the market. This is when Merlons was created as the brand name of BMC Sharmi LLC. Recommendations from loyal customers and successful designers continue to guide the selection of new, distinctive and technology-driven products.

2024

Merlons entered the market with a separate showroom and a growing international brand portfolio, including Infinity, Simas, Meir, Dune, Carisa, Nofer, Schock, Pedrali, Bolia, Viokef, Aquaforte, Empolo, LT Form and Ukinox.

2025

Merlons began a new stage of development and expanded into furniture and lighting with a new showroom. The space presents respected international brands including Pedrali, Bolia, Viokef and LTform, combining contemporary design, quality and function in one place.

Brand Story

For thousands of years, merlons were solid protective architectural elements at the top of fortress walls. Their purpose around the world, including in Georgia, was to create an added sense of safety for people of that era.

Inspired by that historic idea, the founders wanted to create a brand that represents reliability in today's constantly changing world.
